Tattoo Aftercare
WITHOUT SECOND SKIN
While second skin is a great healing tool, it doesn't always work for everyone! Here are our friendly tips on how to take care of your new ink the best way possible!
-After a good nights sleep in the wrap your artist provided, remove the covering and clean the tattoo with an antibacterial, non-scented soap.
-Let your tattoo dry and put a very thin coat of aftercare cream (We sell cream in the studio, but if you don't buy with us we also recommend Aquaphor.)
-Keep your tattoo clean and avoid contact with surfaces.
-Clean and put ointment on your tattoo 3-4 times a day
-Wrap tattoo while you sleep for the first 3 nights with cling wrap
-Your tattoo will most likely ooze ink and plasma, this is perfectly normal! You will also notice that you go through a peeling stage, do not pick or scratch while doing so.
-Do not swim in ANY water for 2 weeks, or expose for too long in the sun. You may take normal showers.
-After you are finished with the peeling stage, you can switch to an unscented lotion 3-4 times a day for about 2 weeks.

WITH SECOND SKIN
Yay! Your skin loves second skin. This process will be a lot easier for you.
-Your tattoo artist will place second skin on you before you leave, and for the most part it's a much easier heal!
-Remove the first derm 24 hours after your artist placed it on you. (Easiest way is in the shower under warm water)
-Clean with an antibacterial non-scented soap
-Pat or air dry
-Place new second skin on existing tattoo (We recommend someone else helps you with this
-Make sure all edges are sealed
-Wear skin for 96 hours
-After you remove skin you can either switch to cleaning the tattoo and using unscented lotion, or you can place a new derm on. We recommend Hexderm which you can find on Needlesupply
